Do you ever wish that deep down inside you understood God’s love and grace for you? So much so that you stopped beating yourself up, stopped trying to be perfect and started pursuing a real friendship with your maker? Here on Daily Run With God, I hope to help you internalize and believe that God loves you. Through blog posts and even podcasts, I hope to inspire you to live a life of confidence in that truth.
I’m Carl Tatum. I have been “jogging” with God about 18 years now. If you saw me at the running store, you would probably think that I was just there to deliver something rather than purchase running gear. “Running” with God is a little fast for my real pace, but my heavenly Father has given me many hours of fellowship on the running trail.
I grew up in a “law” based “religion”. Most of my life was weighed down with doing everything in my own strength to be acceptable to God. After I stepped down from ministry leadership, I found a new understanding of how much God loves me.
My walk with the Lord has been much like my running! Many times, I don’t look or sound like a great child of God, but “Oh How He Loves Me and You”. God promises you in the Bible that he won’t ever leave you nor abandon you. God is the only force that will fulfill that promise. So come with me on a not-so-perfect “Daily Run With God”, but one where his grace and love never fail.
Galatians 5:6 The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.
I have been married to my wife since 1971. We have 2 daughters, both married who have blessed us with 2 grandsons. Life has been good to me. We have pastored several churches, but stepped out of church leadership roles in 2000. Since that time, with the teaching of a wonderful mentor, God has taught me about His great love and His wonderful grace. I also have 38 years as a manager with a leading communications company. In other words, I do get senior citizen discounts, but I am still 18 in my mind.
